When creating an Alias, the user can construct a unique name with up to 100 letters without spaces between and using a-z/A-Z and, in addition, the \_ character. The Alias gets created using the* Alias* *assignment transaction* type and pays the 0.20 Signa network fee. The Alias can be made without an STLD or for a specified STLD.

Every update on the content of the Alias is also done with the *Alias assignment transaction* and costs an additional 0.20 Signa network fee.

:::hint{type="info"}
If an Alias is already registered, the creation of the Alias will not work!
Try on a different STLD or change the unique name.
