The Signum blockchain had its genesis block on **August 11th 2014**. The inventor of Signum is unknown. They disappeared shortly after the start of Signum. Since then, the chain has been managed by various community-driven development teams. As of 2019, the Signum Network team is working on the current development of Signum in an open-source and community-driven manner.
